Shepherd’s donor-funded programs were instrumental in Kimiko Cheeley’s journey after a 500-pound tire fell on her and resulted in a traumatic brain injury.
From the moment she started brain injury rehabilitation at Shepherd, Kimiko was challenged and cheered on by our team of specialists. It was a demanding path, but Kimiko never gave up.
Today she is back to working full time as a palliative care coordinator and volunteering as her hospital’s Trauma Survivor Network coordinator.
