Brain Injury Care
for U.S. Service Members
and First Responders

The SHARE Military Initiative at Shepherd Center provides world-class treatment that makes a world of different at no cost to veterans, service members, and first responders who have sustained traumatic brain injuries.

Our goal is to earn our clients’ trust every day as we help them move beyond traumatic brain injury and find renewed purpose.

“I can’t forget the pain, but I can put it to good use.”

Shepherd graduate, Staff Sgt. Jarrad Turner.

Staff Sergeant Jarrad Turner was injured in an attack during his second tour of duty in Iraq, and he sustained a traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress. He tried to convince himself that these “invisible” brain injuries were just all in his head. That all changed when Jarrad came to Shepherd’s SHARE Military Initiative.

Our dedicated team educated Jarrad about his injuries and provided an individualized and impactful path to renewed relationships, purpose, and life. Accepting the help he deserved empowered Jarrad to help others. He now serves his fellow service members as a member of Shepherd’s Men, raising awareness and funds for the SHARE Military Initiative.

Donations Make a Difference

Like many of Shepherd’s unique and life-changing programs, the SHARE Military Initiative is only possible thanks to generous support from donors like you. Donor gifts to SHARE allow us to serve more clients, provide dedicated space for them, and offer flexible programs that meet the needs of service members, first responders, and their families. It is a meaningful example of just how vital Shepherd’s supporters are in the lives of so many.
